Alpha Australia exists to serve the Church in its mission to help people discover and develop a relationship with Jesus. We equip churches of all denominations to create spaces where conversations about life, faith and Jesus can flourish.
Our dream is to see a student-led revival across Australia by equipping young people to confidently share their faith, empowering youth leaders, and helping churches partner with schools to reach the next generation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Alpha's Next Generation ministry in Australia.
The Spheres & Alpha in Schools State Coordinator (NSW & VIC) will support the growth of Spheres across New South Wales while helping churches, schools, youth ministries and students confidently use Alpha and Life Essentials to reach their communities.
Working closely with the National Next Generation team, you'll build strategic relationships, facilitate Alpha training, coordinate events, support volunteers and champion student-led evangelism throughout NSW.
This is a highly relational ministry role that combines vision, leadership, mobilisation and practical execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Coordinate the growth of Spheres across New South Wales in partnership with the Alpha Next Generation team
- Build strong relationships with schools, churches, youth ministries and ministry partners.
- Recruit and support students and youth leaders for Spheres Gatherings and Academy.
- Equip schools & Churches to confidently run Alpha Youth and Life Essentials.
- Coordinate local volunteers and event teams.
- Represent Alpha at conferences, youth events and ministry gatherings.
- Work with the National team to achieve participation, engagement and growth targets.
- Capture stories and celebrate what God is doing through students across NSW.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who loves Jesus, believes in the next generation and enjoys helping others step into mission.
You'll bring:
- A genuine passion for youth evangelism and discipleship.
- Familiarity with Alpha, including experience in running Alphas
- Experience serving in youth ministry, schools ministry or church leadership.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Confidence in speaking with school and church leaders, youth pastors and students.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Initiative, adaptability and a willingness to pioneer new opportunities.
- Alignment with Alpha Australia's vision, mission and values.
WORK STRUCTURE
This role is offered as: Full-time
Regular travel throughout New South Wales will be required, with occasional interstate travel for Spheres Gatherings, training and national team events.
