Nestled in the leafy suburb of Barden Ridge in Southern Sydney, Shire Christian School has been providing high quality Christian education for nearly 50 years. With over 950 students enrolled across Prep to Year 12, we seek to create a culture where every child is part of a community that feels like family. Shire Christian School is committed to whole student learning; both academically and pastorally. We support staff to adopt and implement a Learning Power approach to teaching and learning, under our Learning for Life framework. Under this framework, teachers work in a collaborative and collegial environment to design experiences that challenge, extend and enrich student learning.
The Board of Shire Christian School is looking for an experienced Christian leader and innovator who lives to serve Christ, through a Reformed understanding of Scripture. The successful candidate will possess the deep conviction and demonstrated knowledge to oversee the delivery of education through a biblical lens.

Key Selection Criteria:
- Be a committed Reformed evangelical Christian, through active membership of a protestant denomination and church community.
- Be of exceptional character and can model servant leadership.
- Be compassionate and empathetic towards the experiences, challenges and needs of children and adolescents.
- Be an educational leader, innovator, and change agent who can inspire a like-minded staff team to deliver excellence in Christian education.
- Have the energy, drive and initiative to deliver the vision and mission of the school through the Strategic Plan.
- Unite the Executive under a common purpose to deliver the best outcomes for the school.
- Possess the foresight and wisdom to engage positively and decisively with the Board in all areas.
- Be able to articulate and demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Christian Parent Controlled/Governed Schooling.
- Be able to demonstrate an exceptional understanding of education from P to 12.
- Be able to demonstrate superior strategic, management, financial planning and administration skills and an ability to consult, plan and delegate.
- Have demonstrated prior experience in school leadership.
- Hold or is pursuing post-graduate qualifications together with appropriate teaching qualifications.
- Be able to promote the School in external educational settings.
- Have a clear position on the best way ahead for the ‘parents in partnership’ model and aligning with like minded parents in the education of their children.
- Be across the regulatory requirements of the school and possess a good understanding of its obligations under various jurisdictions and government agencies.
- Be willing to pursue further professional development and encourage staff to do so.
- Have a clear position and views on the future of Christian education and independent schooling.
