ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Learning Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting student engagement, wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning programs.
  • Assisting individual students and small groups within classroom settings.
  • Providing additional support for students with diverse educational and learning needs.
  • Helping implement teacher-directed learning strategies and individual learning plans.
  • Encouraging student confidence, independence and participation.
  • Building positive and respectful relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Assisting with supervision duties and school activities as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and seeing them flourish.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting student learning and wellbeing.
  • A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and active involvement in a local church community.

The following would be advantageous:

  • Certificate III or IV in Education Support or a related qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a school environment.
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.

Applicants from other professional backgrounds with transferable skills and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
