Mt Evelyn Christian Reformed Church is seeking a visionary and relational Youth Pastor to spearhead the growth of our youth ministries. This role is designed for an engager— someone passionate about creating a vibrant, safe, and spiritually engaging discipleship environment for young people while fostering deep connections within the MECRC community and developing the next generation of leaders.
We are an active, contemporary community in Melbourne’s outer east. Our vision is to see God’s Kingdom expand in our church, our community and beyond.
This role is part-time (8 hours per week) and will include some evening hours.
Key Areas of Responsibility include:
- Overseeing and developing an engaging youth program, including growing a leadership team
- Develop and implement an evangelism strategy focusing on youth
- Develop and implement connect groups within the youth community with a pastoral focus
- Develop and implement a pathway from Sunday School to Youth Group in collaboration with the Sunday School team.
- Participate in CRCA State Youth Committee meetings and events.
Who We Are Looking For
- A relational and inspiring leader with a genuine desire to see young people thrive and grow in their faith.
- Experienced in building teams and facilitating programs or events.
- Ability to communicate well with young people, parents, and church leadership.
- Theologically grounded, spiritually mature, and emotionally resilient.
- The ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule while working closely with other staff.
- Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and comply with all ChildSafe ministry protocols at a Team Leader level including compliance with Victorian Government Childsafe legislation.
- Hold a current and satisfactory drivers licence.
- Must hold (or be willing to obtain) Level 2 First Aid including CPR training.
- A commitment to becoming an active member within our church community.
