ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a suitably qualified Finance & Operations Resource Assistant whose responsibilities will include day-to-day finance assistance, family debtors’ management and general accounting processes. A high level of attention to detail and good cash management skills are essential as well as the ability to adapt to “fit for use” software programs including XERO accounting.
The role includes a component of general administration including the ordering of staff and student stationery, general consumables and other operating resources.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY
Essential Criteria:
• Ability to adapt to “fit for purpose” software,
• Working knowledge of XERO accounting software
• Demonstrate a high level of skills in using the MS Office suite of software related to word processing, page layout, spreadsheets and/or databases,
• Demonstrate effective communication skills for a range of situations,
• Sound capability in handling money, balancing/receipting, and ordering/reordering goods and other operational resources.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
• Familiar with inventory management and point-of-sale processes, procedures, and software systems
Knowledge
• High level of understanding of finance and accounting standards and processes required for necessary compliance.
• An understanding of Workplace Health & Safety as it may apply to an educational facility.

• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to negotiate desired outcomes,
• Exhibit professional qualities required for being a first point of contact for the College,

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a rapidly changing work environment,
• Demonstrates flexibility and common sense with honesty and integrity in a range of situations,
• Demonstrates initiative and self-directed application of appropriate techniques and equipment,
• Attention to detail and ability to think logically.
