Padstow Baptist Community Church (PBCC) is a vibrant and growing church in Southwest Sydney, with a committed, diverse congregation of around 300 people.
We are prayerfully seeking an Associate Pastor to oversee our Outward Ministry Stream; to join our team and help lead PBCC into the next season of ministry. We believe God has been doing something significant among us, and we are looking for a leader who can build on what has already been established, strengthen what is emerging, and help equip our church to move forward with faith, clarity and unity.
This role is not simply about filling a position. It is about joining a team who are pursuing God, investing in people, and helping shape the future of our church.
We see this leader being intentionally developed and equipped to lead one of our three key ministry streams at Padstow. The right person will have space to grow, contribute, lead, and help develop others as we continue to build healthy ministry structures for the next season at Padstow.
We are looking for someone who is Christ-centred, Spirit-led, relationally wise and able to communicate biblical truth in a clear and engaging way for today’s world. Applicants would need to be able to connect with people across a diverse church congregation, lead collaboratively, develop people, and help others take their first step or their next step in following Jesus.
The successful applicant will:
- Have a deep and authentic relationship with God, prioritising personal prayer, worship and bible study.
- Be in alignment with the vision, mission and values of PBCC.
- Have clear leadership gifting, with the ability to inspire, develop and mobilise others.
- Have proven ability to build, lead and grow teams and leaders.
- Carry a heart for discipleship and forming people in the way of Jesus.
- Be a capable communicator with the ability to preach and teach the Bible faithfully and practically.
- Work collaboratively within a team leadership environment, while also showing initiative and responsibility.
- Have experience in shaping or leading gatherings, ministries or ministry environments.
- Have / obtain a current Police Criminal Record Check.
- Have a current Working With Children Check.
- Have a current Creating Safe Spaces Certificate (or equivalent).
- Current Recognised or Accredited Minister status with the Baptist Association, or willingness to work towards this.
