We're seeking a passionate Cross Cultural Advisor to support churches with their Everyday English ministry. This role combines relationship building, training in teaching English, curriculum development and other support to churches across South Western Sydney to help them confidently reach their local communities and make Jesus known.

Your opportunity

As our Cross Cultural Advisor, you'll work alongside Anglican churches to strengthen their cross-cultural engagement through practical support, training and the growth of Anglicare's Everyday English program.

With integrity and compassion, you will:

  • Grow and strengthen the Everyday English program across the South Western Sydney Diocese.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training in English language teaching, cultural awareness and volunteer facilitation.
  • Coach and encourage church volunteers, helping them build confidence and capability.
  • Support Anglican churches to engage effectively with culturally diverse communities.
  • Build collaborative relationships with parishes, community organisations and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop practical resources that support volunteers.
  • Monitor program outcomes, maintain accurate reporting and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Promote Anglicare's Community and Mission services within churches and the wider community.

What you'll bring

You're a relationship builder who enjoys equipping others to make a positive impact. You bring cultural awareness, excellent communication skills and a heart for supporting churches as they serve their local communities.

Most importantly, you'll share Anglicare's Christian values of Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Excellence.

You will also bring:

  • Postgraduate qualification in TESOL or another adult education discipline.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • At least three years' experience teaching English
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends (time in lieu provided).

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience leading volunteers within a church, ministry or community organisation.
  • Experience designing training resources or facilitating community education programs.
  • Strong understanding of multicultural ministry and community engagement.
  • A personal Christian faith and passion for supporting local churches in mission.
