Beached @ Burleigh is an integral ministry of Burleigh Church of Christ—a place where people can find rest among the waves of life. Inspired by the life and love of Jesus, we exist to create a community of grace where every person is seen, valued and supported.

We are seeking a Ministry Coordinator who is passionate about people, grounded in Christian faith, and energised by hands on community ministry. If you love building relationships, leading volunteers, and helping a local church make a real difference, this role may be your calling.

About the Role

The Beached @ Burleigh Ministry Coordinator oversees the coordination, leadership and daily running of all Beached @ Burleigh programs and initiatives. You will work closely with the Senior Pastor, Community Chaplain, and Finance/HR Administrator to ensure our ministry reflects the heart of Jesus in every interaction.

This is a 25 hour per week role, spread across Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Christian Conduct & Compliance
• Model Christ like character—humility, kindness, patience, integrity and love
• Represent and uphold the mission and values of BCC
• Work in accordance with all BCC policies, WHS requirements and procedures

Relationship Ministry
• Build warm, genuine relationships with volunteers, sponsors, local churches, businesses and community partners
• Engage intentionally with those we serve, offering connection to wider support services where appropriate

Organisation & Administration
• Oversee and coordinate all volunteers, including rosters, shifts, roles and responsibilities
• Provide induction and training for volunteers
• Ensure firm adherence to WHS and BCC policies
• Oversee Op Shop stock control, pricing and intake
• Ensure adequate food supply for the weekly Food Help program

Leadership & Management
• Manage issues as they arise, including customer service concerns, volunteer conflict and incident response
• Model a healthy, Christ centred culture through presence, communication and action

Advocacy & Reporting
• Promote Beached @ Burleigh initiatives through appropriate communication and social media
• Share stories and testimonies that honour God and highlight ministry impact
• Provide monthly reports to BCC Eldership (sales figures, volunteer updates, initiatives, opportunities and issues)

Growth & Improvement
• Build capacity in volunteers through encouragement, feedback and support
• Foster continuous improvement and role satisfaction across the team

Essential
• Willingness to be an active member of Burleigh Church of Christ
• A genuine Christian faith and a heart for serving others in Jesus’ name
• Commitment to the mission and values of Burleigh Church of Christ
• Strong communication, administrative and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
• Proven ability to lead and support a large volunteer team
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality, wisdom and discernment

Desirable
• Experience in local church or para church ministry
• Experience in community engagement, networking or fundraising
• Confidence with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
• Ability to represent a faith based ministry in the community and marketplace
