Accounts Manager

The church is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), committed to the faithful stewardship of the resources entrusted to us in service of our mission and community. Our church family extends across several ministries and associated entities, including church-related trusts and a childcare and early learning service, all administered from our Liverpool campus.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the accounting, financial compliance, and stewardship functions of the Church and its associated entities. This is a position of trust, calling for both professional excellence and a genuine commitment to serving the Church's mission with integrity, discretion, and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting for tithes, offerings, and restricted funds, ensuring donor intentions and biblical stewardship principles are honoured
• Manage statutory and regulatory compliance obligations, including those of the ACNC, ATO, and ASIC, across the Church, related trusts, and the childcare centre
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for the Business Manager, Leadership, and the Board
• Provide oversight of the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
• Support the Business Manager and ministry leaders in the preparation and stewardship of annual budgets

What We Are Looking For

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CA or CPA accreditation highly regarded
• A minimum of five years accounting experience, ideally within a church, charity, or not-for-profit organisation with multiple related entities
• Sound knowledge of Australian charity law, ACNC governance requirements, and related taxation matters
• Proficiency in MYOB and Church Management Systems; familiarity with childcare billing systems would be advantageous
• A mature, active Christian faith, and a sincere commitment to upholding the mission, vision, and values of Inspire Church
