At Temcare, we believe strong families build strong communities.

For more than 55 years, we’ve walked alongside children and families experiencing life’s challenges, offering practical support, meaningful connection and opportunities to build a brighter future. As a Christian organisation, our faith shapes both our purpose and the way we care for people.

We’re now entering an exciting new season and are looking for a Family Support Coordinator to become part of our team.

This isn’t a traditional case management role.

It’s an opportunity for someone who enjoys building genuine relationship with people while also helping shape the future of a growing organisation. We’re looking for someone who can see possibilities where others see problems – someone who enjoys creating practical solutions, strengthening systems, exploring new ideas and making a meaningful contribution to the lives of families.

At Temcare, we don’t work in silos or rigid hierarchies. We believe every person brings unique gifts, strengths and experiences, and that we achieve far more when we work together. Whether you’re supporting a family, helping deliver a workshop, improving a process or contributing to a new initiative, every member of our team plays an important role in our shared mission.

About Temcare

Since 1968, Temcare has been supporting children and families across Melbourne through practical care, community connection and faith-inspired service.

Today, our work focuses on strengthening families through support groups, personal development workshops, family camps, community activities, practical assistance and opportunities for people to build confidence, resilience and meaningful relationships. We are committed to creating places where people feel welcomed valued and empowered to take positive steps forward.

About the Role

As our Family Support Coordinator, you’ll enjoy a diverse and rewarding role, including:

  • Building authentic relationships with children, young people and families.
  • Providing practical support, encouragement and guidance to families accessing Temcare’s services.
  • Identifying emerging community needs and contributing to the development of new programs and initiatives.
  • Helping develop practical systems, resources and processes that strengthen the organisation and improve the experience of the families we serve.
  • Supporting workshops, family activities, camps and community events.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team, contributing wherever your skills and strengths can add value.

No two weeks will look the same. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative and loves helping build something that will make a lasting difference.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

You may come from a background in Social Work, Counselling, Community Services, Youth Work, Psychology or another relevant human services discipline.

More importantly, you’ll be someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children, young people and families.
  • Is practical, grounded and solutions-focused.
  • Exercises sound judgement while balancing compassion with healthy professional boundaries.
  • Enjoys building relationships as much as building ideas, systems and opportunities.
  • Is organised, proactive and willing to take initiative.
  • Communicates well and enjoys working collaboratively within a close-knit team.
  • Is adaptable and comfortable in an organisation that continues to grow and evolve.
  • Has a genuine Christian faith and is enthusiastic about contributing to the mission, vision, and values of Temcare.

You will also hold (or be willing to obtain):

  • A relevant qualification or experience in a human service field.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • National Police Check.

Why Join Temcare?

At Temcare, we believe everyone has something valuable to contribute.

We value authenticity, humility, initiative and collaboration. We encourage creativity, celebrate different strengths and work together with a shared commitment to serving families with excellence, compassion and hope.

If you’re looking for more than just a job – if you’re looking for a place where your faith, your professional skills and your unique gifts can make a genuine difference – we'd love to hear from you.

Salary will be offered in accordance with the SCHADS Award and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
