Psychologist or Counsellor: Join Our Faith-Integrated Relational Practice (Remote, Australia-wide)

About the opportunity

Connections Count is growing, and we're looking for a warm, relational clinician to join our fully remote team. This is a role for someone who wants to do deep, meaningful work with clients and grow as a practitioner, a thought leader, and a person of faith. Whether you're an early-career counsellor or an experienced psychologist, if you're eager to integrate your faith and your clinical work with skill and grace, we'd love to meet you.

You'll work relationally with individuals, couples and families, supported by excellent supervision, genuine mentoring, and the kind of admin support that lets you focus on what you do best: caring for your clients.

What we're about

Our mission is to empower wholeness and thriving in people and systems, and our values show up in how we work every day:

  • Compassionate. We meet every person, client and colleague alike, with warmth and grace, the way we've been met ourselves.
  • Committed. We all have more to learn, and we show up fully, for our clients and for each other.
  • Creative. We bring imagination and courage to our work, always seeking better ways to help people flourish.
  • Client-centred. We hold our clients' stories with care and tailor our work to what each person truly needs.

We're an ecumenical practice, passionate about church unity, and our hearts and our doors are open to everyone. We serve and support all people with respect and compassion, and we're looking for a clinician who shares that heart.

Who we're looking for

You are:

  • A registered psychologist or counsellor, warm and relational in your approach.
  • Eager to work with individuals, couples and families. Experience with couples and relationship work is highly desirable, and we're glad to support the right person with training.
  • Trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, or genuinely eager to learn it.
  • Passionate about integrating Christian faith and evidence-based practice, ethically and with care for every client.
  • Hungry to grow, be stretched, and be championed. This isn't a place to pick up a few quiet hours in isolation. It's a place to develop.
  • Excited by business development, whether that's co-creating workshops, webinars, retreats or online courses, or building something of your own with our backing.
  • Conscientious, ethical and self-directed in managing your caseload and clinical notes.

What's fixed, and what's flexible

We believe in being clear, so you know exactly what you're stepping into.

Fixed:

  • Willingness to build toward a caseload of at least 15 client hours per week as referrals allow.
  • Attendance at our regular team meetings.
  • Conscientious, ethical management of your own notes and caseload.
  • Willingness to work relationally across individuals, couples and families.

Flexible:

  • Employee or contractor arrangement, whichever suits you and the role.
  • Your hours, which can grow as your caseload does.
  • Availability for at least one afternoon or evening each week is highly desirable, though not essential.

What we offer

  • Supervision with a doctorally qualified, ICEEFT Certified EFT Supervisor and clinical psychologist.
  • Support toward your own ICEEFT certification.
  • Funded professional development, mentoring and real development opportunities.
  • A supportive, faith-aligned team that genuinely champions one another.
  • Opportunities to grow your income and your professional footprint by co-creating workshops, webinars, retreats and online courses with us, or developing your own with our funding and support.
  • Top-notch client care support, so you're freed to do what you do best.
  • Fully remote work, from anywhere in Australia.
  • Remuneration commensurate with your qualifications and experience, up to $120 per clinical hour plus superannuation, alongside a $32 per hour administrative allowance. We'll talk openly and fairly about the right rate for you.

What you'll need

  • Psychologists: general registration and good standing with AHPRA, plus Medicare provider eligibility or the ability to obtain it before commencing.
  • Counsellors: registration and good standing with a recognised professional body (for example PACFA, ACA or ACCA). Motivated new graduates eligible for membership are warmly welcome.
  • Current professional indemnity insurance appropriate to private practice (or to obtain this before you begin work).
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • A private, secure space to work from, with reliable internet, a suitable device and a webcam.
