Through chaplaincy, mentoring, wellbeing programs, community services, and our social enterprise Loaves & Fishes Tasmania, we create opportunities for people to experience connection, encouragement, practical support, and hope. We're looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator to help share those stories.
From capturing moments in schools and community programs, to showcasing volunteers, food rescue, fundraising campaigns and community events, you'll help communicate the impact of our work and inspire others to become part of it.

About the Role
Reporting to the Marketing & Content Manager, you'll coordinate the day-to-day delivery of social media and digital content across Devonport Chaplaincy Inc. and Loaves & Fishes Tasmania.
Working closely with staff across our programs, you'll capture authentic stories, celebrate people, promote events and initiatives, and help grow awareness of our mission throughout Tasmania.
No two days will be the same. You might spend one morning filming a behind-the-scenes food rescue, the afternoon interviewing a volunteer, then finish the day scheduling content for an upcoming fundraising campaign or responding to comments from our online community.
What You'll Be Doing
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Schedule and publish content in line with the weekly content calendar
- Write engaging, authentic captions that reflect the voice of Devonport Chaplaincy Inc. and Loaves & Fishes Tasmania
- Design simple graphics, Stories and digital assets using Canva
- Capture photography and short-form video across programs, schools, community events, volunteers and organisational activities
- Work closely with staff and volunteers to identify meaningful stories and content opportunities
Community Engagement
- Monitor comments, messages and mentions across social media platforms
- Respond to enquiries in a friendly, professional and timely manner
- Foster genuine engagement with our online communities
- Escalate sensitive or complex enquiries to the Marketing & Content Manager where required
Campaign Support
- Deliver social media activity for fundraising campaigns, seasonal appeals, awareness initiatives, events and organisational promotions
- Capture user-generated content during events and activations
- Support rollout of campaign assets and marketing initiatives
- Help communicate the impact of our programs and the generosity of our supporters
Reporting & Administration
- Monitor key social media metrics including reach, engagement and audience growth
- Prepare simple weekly and monthly reports
- Maintain an organised library of approved photography, video and creative assets
- Assist with maintaining content calendars and supporting organisational communications
About You
You love finding stories that matter and sharing them in ways that connect with people.
You're creative, organised, curious and enjoy building relationships with people from all walks of life.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for a business, charity or organisation
- Excellent copywriting skills and the ability to write authentic, engaging content
- Confidence using Canva or similar design platforms
- Experience capturing quality photography and short-form video using a smartphone or camera
- Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and social media scheduling platforms
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently
- A basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting
- A current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel between Devonport Chaplaincy and Loaves & Fishes Tasmania sites, schools and community events
