About Us
New Vine Westlakes is a welcoming, down-to-earth, cross-generational church in the Lake Macquarie region, marked by authentic relationships, a strong sense of community, and a heart to make disciples who love God, love people, and live out the call of Jesus. With Baptist roots and a spirit-led, contemporary expression, we value biblical teaching, openness to the Holy Spirit, and empowering people in their gifts.
Located in a diverse and growing region marked by both real need and spiritual openness, we are passionate about engaging our community with practical love and a clear expression of the Gospel. We desire to be a church that not only cares for people in tangible ways, but also reaches beyond its walls, building relationships, serving locally, and creating pathways for people to encounter Jesus.
Whilst we are currently blessed to meet in the Charlton Christian College school hall, it has been a long held collective vision to be permanently planted in our local community in our own building, and we are excited that this vision is on the horizon.
The Role
The Pastor of New Vine Westlakes will be responsible for providing spiritual leadership, vision, and direction to the church, as we move into this new season. This role centres on seeking God, shepherding the congregation, and equipping the church to live out its mission in the Westlakes region.
Our Pastor will:
- Lead the church in discerning and pursuing God’s vision
- Model a life of prayer, spiritual maturity, and dependence on God
- Preach and teach scripture in a way that is engaging, faithful, and transformative
- Build, develop, and empower leaders and teams
- Strengthen and develop the church’s discipleship pathways
- Foster a culture of outreach, evangelism, and community engagement
- Provide Pastoral Care alongside a broader ministry team
- Spirit-led, prayerful and Biblically grounded
- Authentic, relational, and approachable
- An engaging and strong communicator
- Pastoral in heart, with a genuine love for people
- A leader who seeks to empower and develop others
- Has a strong heart to reach those outside the church
- Has a passion for church planting and breaking new ground
- Is willing and equipped to wisely and strategically walk our church community through a season of change and also opportunity.
- Is willing to reside within our local community
- Be a recognised or accredited pastor or be prepared to go through the process of becoming a recognised Pastor with the Association of Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT
- Hold a qualification in theology, ministry, or equivalent
- Have the right to work in Australia. Able to supply a cleared Working with Children check and Police check

Salary package will be commensurate with the Baptist Association of NSW and ACT guidelines.
