The Lutheran Church of Australia – South Australia and Northern Territory (SA-NT) District is seeking a highly organised and professional Congregational Support Officer to join our District Office team in North Adelaide.
The Lutheran Church of Australia – SA-NT District exists to support and encourage congregations, pastors and ministry leaders across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Working in partnership with local communities, schools and ministry organisations, the District seeks to equip people and congregations to share the hope of the Gospel and serve others with compassion and purpose. Our District Office team plays a vital role in providing the leadership, administration and resources that help ministries thrive and communities grow.
This pivotal role provides executive and administrative support to senior leaders, including the Bishop, Assistant Bishop for Mission and District Administrator, while also supporting congregations and the wider mission of the Church across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

About the Role
As the Congregational Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and executive support services across the District Office. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the office while fostering strong relationships with congregations, District entities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive assistance to the Bishop, District Administrator and Assistant Bishop for Mission.
- Coordinate diaries, correspondence, telephone and email communications.
- Support pastor engagement and assist congregations with administrative enquiries.
- Lead and supervise the District Office administrative team on a day-to-day basis.
- Prepare agendas, take minutes and provide meeting support.
- Coordinate conferences, events and special gatherings.
- Assist with the administration of District property matters.
- Provide relief support for bookkeeping and administration functions during staff absences.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the District Administrator.
About You
Essential Skills and Experience
You will demonstrate:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing minutes and formal business correspondence.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Sound judgement, initiative, flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- A proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- Knowledge of the Lutheran Church and its ministries, or a willingness to develop this understanding.

Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Hold and maintain a current driver's licence.
- Provide and maintain a satisfactory Working With Children Check and National Police Clearance.
- Complete, or be willing to undertake, Safe Church training (or equivalent).
- Participate in occasional interstate travel and out-of-hours work when required.
