Seeking a full-time Lead Pastor to lead the church to fulfil its mission and vision.....

Whitehill is an established, contemporary, multi-staffed, multi-generational church with a passion for helping people to love God, love people and follow Jesus. Whitehill is located in the fast-growing city of Ipswich, Queensland, and holds two Sunday Worship services with a combined attendance of around 350. Whitehill has a core congregation of more than 450 people and connects weekly with many others from the local community through outreach initiatives.

The key responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Cast and strategically implement the church’s vision and mission.
  • Lead and train the ministry staff team.
  • Teach and preach the Word of God.
  • Guide and shepherd the congregation.
  • Equip and mobilise the church for effective discipleship and mission.
  • Perform general pastoral duties (child dedications, baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc.).
  • Work closely with the Council of Elders to ensure healthy alignment in church leadership and ministry direction.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus as evidenced by the qualities listed in Galatians 5:19-24.
  • Meet the qualifications of an Elder as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
  • Lead with exemplary Christlike character and spiritual maturity.
  • Be gifted in teaching and preaching God’s Word with theological clarity, Gospel fluency and pastoral application that strengthens the congregation's resolve for the faith and obedience to Christ.
  • Be skilled in vision casting and strategic plan implementation.
  • Be able to effectively lead and build teams.
  • Committed to the mission, vision, values, doctrine and direction of Whitehill Church of Christ.
  • Minimum of an undergraduate qualification in Ministry and/or Theology.
  • Previous experience of fruitful pastoral ministry.
  • Citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
  • Ability to obtain a Queensland Working with Children’s Check (Blue Card) and Safe Ministry Check (Board Level).
  • Able to be endorsed as a ministering person with Churches of Christ in Queensland.

We are hoping for the successful candidate to commence as soon as possible.

Remuneration and other conditions are generally according to Churches of Christ in QLD employment guidelines.
