Casuarina NT, Australia Live-In

Looking for a committed and caring Christian volunteer ( or a couple) to serve as host (after-office hour’s staff) for the rest of 2026. Long term arrangements may also be suitable......

Position Description

This role is a vital part of the life and ministry of our College. Students from remote communities attend the College for intensive study blocks of 2–4 weeks, and the Host plays an important role in ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and cared for during their stay.

Key responsibilities include airport pickups and drop-offs, assisting students to settle into their accommodation, and being available to provide support or respond to emergencies outside normal office hours, including overnight.

The role also includes a security component, such as locking and unlocking gates and buildings, and responding appropriately to disturbances. In the event of a serious incident, the Host is expected to contact Larrakia Nation and/or the police as required.

This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in a significant ministry serving Indigenous people, to learn from them, and to share life and community with them.

This is a volunteer position and does not include a salary, however free accommodation (including partly furnished house, water, electricity) is provided on campus. As the role is primarily focused on after-hours and overnight responsibilities, the successful applicant is generally free during normal business hours and may choose to pursue paid employment, study, or other activities during the day, provided they remain able to fulfil the requirements of the Host role.

Interested volunteers will be required to complete an interview and reference checks. Applicants must also hold a current Working with Children Card (or equivalent), a full driver's licence, and a current National Police Certificate.
