Newlife Church is a large, vibrant, evangelical movement with churches in Brisbane, Robina, Coolangatta, Coomera, Moreton, and Online. We exist to see more people more like Jesus — and our vision is to be a leading movement of renewal with and through the Uniting Church.

We're looking for a gifted and grounded Gatherings Pastor to join the Newlife Brisbane team — someone who can lead Spirit-filled Sunday gatherings with excellence, while developing a culture of empowered, mission-hearted volunteers.

About the Role

This is a part-time pastoral position at the heart of our Sunday experience. You'll take ownership of leading worship gatherings that are warm, welcoming, and spiritually rich — creating environments where both believers and seekers can encounter Jesus.

You'll be responsible for:

• Discipleship & Development — Cultivating a culture where ministry leaders and volunteers are equipped and inspired to raise up the next generation of servants and leaders.
• Systems & Ministry Excellence — Building sustainable team structures, clear processes, and a rostering culture that is primarily volunteer-led, freeing others to step in with confidence.
• Spiritual Formation & Leadership Development — Providing intentional training and formation for worship and service leaders, nurturing both skill and character, and championing prayer as the foundation of all Sunday ministry.
• Mission & Community Connection — Connecting Sunday experiences to discipleship pathways and partnering with Newlife Care to love and serve our city with compassion and gospel purpose.

About You

You bring proven leadership in a local church context, a deep love for worship, and the relational skills to build trust across a diverse team. You're someone who leads from a place of spiritual depth, models humility, and multiplies yourself in others.

You'll also bring:

• Bachelor-level qualifications (further study in leadership or mission highly regarded)
• Demonstrated experience leading worship in a local church setting
• Strong communication, organisational, and pastoral skills
• A commitment to the values and ethos of Newlife and the Uniting Church in Australia
• Current or willingness to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
