About the role
As an Assistant Coordinator, you will support the Centre Co-ordinator to create an environment where children flourish through play-based learning in line with My Time Our Place. Your role will include, but is not limited to, active supervision and engagement of children, assisting in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of the children’s program, recording observations, work with children with additional needs, assist in supervising and training new staff, build professional relationships with families and, in the absence of the Co-ordinator, step in as Responsible Person.

Some important detail:
- Flexible schedule - 30 hours/week - Ability to work flexible, split shifts (before/after school + vacation care)
- Above award rates + allowances + 2-week closure over the Christmas/New Year period (includes 7 days of additional leave + public holidays).
- This is a Level 4 position under the Children’s Service Award.
About You:
- Child safety is your number one priority when working with children, so you have no problem adhering to and promoting the Child Safe Standards.
- You’re passionate about child-led and play-based learning.
- You are professional, cooperative, and able to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and other stakeholders and confident managing compliance, incidents and day-to-day operations
- Leadership experience
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience working with children.
- Child Protection Training - Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk (CHCPRT025 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain.
- Working with Children Check and Current Police Check.
- First Aid - current Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting (HLTAID012) or willingness to obtain immediately.
- MUST have a driver’s licence and reliable car
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework.
- Basic computer and administrative skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Understanding of the role of WHS within the workplace and a commitment to uphold policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and experience with the National Quality Standards.
- Experience with programming and planning for school-age children.
- Formal Children’s Services Qualification.
- Driver’s Licence
