We are seeking an outstanding CAPA Teacher – Ensemble Coordinator to join our team. This full-time teaching and leadership position is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality music education within a Christian framework while leading the development of a vibrant and cohesive school music program. The role includes coordinating the school’s ensemble and Year 4 instrumental programs, overseeing performances and rehearsals, supporting instrumental tutors, and fostering excellence and participation in music across the School. The ability to teach Drama and VET Entertainment Industries would be advantageous. Part-time (0.8 load) may be considered for the right applicant.

Essential Criteria
The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A person of evangelical Christian convictions and character, actively involved in a Bible-based Christian church and committed to the work of Christian education.
  • Affirm and uphold the School’s Statement of Faith and committed to working a biblical worldview into all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications to teach and accredited by NESA.
  • Meet and maintain the criteria of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) at proficient level according to legislation.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check as legislated.
  • An excellent classroom teacher with a deep and broad knowledge of current issues and best practice in education.
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate clearly with students, colleagues and the wider community regarding educational and welfare issues.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously with teams, whether in supervisory, collegial or advisory contexts.
  • Experience in teaching students to meet a wide range of student learning requirements, including effective use of ICT in the classroom.
  • Teaching experience with the NESA (or equivalent) Creative Arts syllabi for K - 6 and/or Music and Drama 7 - 12 syllabi to develop high quality and sequential class programs.
  • Capacity and experience to undertake training and accreditation for the effective delivery of Stage 6 VET Entertainment Industries course.
  • Creating and delivering class music programs that provide engaging learning opportunities to build skills in performance and listening and organising sound.
  • Experience in developing repertoire and programs for performance experiences.
  • Experience in conducting and supporting choral groups and/or ensembles.
  • Piano accompaniment skills (desirable).
