About Crossway LifeCare
Crossway LifeCare is the community services arm of Crossway Baptist Church, based in Burwood East, Melbourne. Our vision is simple but powerful: to see people in tough places flourish.
Rooted in Christian values and compassion, our purpose is to champion God's heart for the vulnerable and disadvantaged by delivering wrap-around care across four integrated service areas: Counselling, Family Violence Programs, COACH Mentoring, and Community Connections.
We have a dedicated team of approximately 35 staff and nearly 120 trained volunteers, all working together to make lasting impact in our community.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis (three days per week). The main working days are Wednesday 9:45 am - 7pm and Thursday 9:45 am - 5pm, with 5 hours rostered on either Friday or Saturday 9:45 am - 2:45 pm.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, computer, and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with vulnerable/challenging clients.
The ability to work after hours is essential, and previous experience in a medical reception setting is highly regarded.
- Ideally the person applying for this role will have the following skills, experiences and abilities:
- Proficient in computer usage, including email and internet navigation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and database systems. Experience with general office equipment, such as fax machines, printers, and copiers.

- Proven ability to organise, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent liaison abilities.
- Exceptional administrative skills with professional experience.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, flexibility, responsiveness, and initiative in delivering services to clients and staff.
- Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality while carrying out responsibilities.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to handle concerns and complaints with patience and discernment.
- Willingness to learn new skills as needed.
- Flexibility in adapting to new directives and managing interruptions effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, planning and organising daily tasks efficiently and accurately to meet position objectives within set timelines.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Gentle and friendly demeanour, with a sensitivity to the needs of others.
Salary & Hours
- Salary and conditions per Health Professionals and Support Services Award (HPSSA) Support Services Level 3
- Part Time 20.5 hours per week - although flexible to do additional hours to cover leave.
