Introduction

We are building a new online model that reaches out to a truly global audience in a way that makes the Gospel attractive to people who are outside the church. How?  By deliberately not being churchy. Since we are currently in pre-launch phase, funding is extremely limited (as you can imagine).  Hence, right now we need multi-lingual volunteers to help us prepare for the big day when we go public (only a few months away).

We are looking for self-starters who love a challenge, and who like being at the cutting-edge of missions for the lost (a perfect fit if face-to-face evangelism doesn’t come easily for you).  This is your chance to stake your early claim on this ongoing work and to make it your own.

Is this for You?

In terms of your life’s purpose and calling, are you:

- Wanting to make a real difference as a Christian?

- Looking for something that’s not dead boring, but instead will challenge you to the limit?

- Looking for a meaningful outlet through which you can channel your precious language talents to help build the Kingdom of God here on earth?

- Wanting to be a pioneer in the transformation of lives by the love of God through an innovative model of evangelism, using the medium of the internet?

- Keen to work your own hours, day or night, all from your home or preferred location?  No travel required.

If you score a 4 or 5 out of 5 above please keep reading on, this could be you…

Volunteer Translators needed

We are seeking first language speakers of many of the world’s different languages to carry out language translation of our web content.  To effectively reach out to a truly global audience, so we can draw them to our online presence

We have already machine-translated all our web content into these languages, but now we need REAL people who can proof-read and correct/edit the draft translated texts.  To make sure that a human eye has confirmed all the texts read as they were intended to be read.

We need about 2-3 first language speakers of each of the following 31 world languages.  To share the burden with each other and confirm the quality of each other’s work.  All editing tasks will be done using online tools, in a well organised and time-efficient manner - to make the very best use of your time:

  • Arabic
  • Bengali
  • Czech
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • Filipino
  • French
  • German
  • Greek
  • Hebrew
  • Hindi
  • Indonesian
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Malay
  • Norwegian
  • Persian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Romanian
  • Russian
  • Simplified/traditional Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Spanish
  • Swahili
  • Swedish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • Ukrainian
  • Vietnamese

Although these translation roles are voluntary, your availability to dedicate roughly up to 20 hours per week (after hours is perfectly fine) would put you in good stead to land a position with us.  We would prefer fewer people who can give more hours (with preferably only 2-3 different people translating each language above), than many volunteers sharing these roles who can only dedicate a handful of hours each a week.

Person Characteristics

All successful candidates will have the following traits:
  • In an ideal world, you’re already a professional language translator!
  • If not, then at least you are very proficient in both English and another first language
  • Have great attention to detail (we celebrate excellence in all we do)
  • A proactive approach and positive attitude
  • Ability to work reliably and independently – don’t need to be micro-managed
  • Clear communication, both written and verbal
  • No problem with being held accountable and sticking to a plan
  • Dedicated to completing their translations and getting them over the line!
  • Last, but not least, humility and a desire to live your life for God

Who we are

We are about to launch a new model of evangelism whereby we are reaching out for the lost who gather in the wilderness.  Internationally, across the globe.  Those who would never set foot in a church.  The majority of people, in other words.  Someone has to love them and reach them (Romans 10:14-15).  That’s our mission.  These are our target audience.  Do you resonate with Jesus’ parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1-7)?  We are currently in pre-launch, development phase, so nobody knows us yet.  You, being a pioneer-at-heart, will be instrumental in helping us change all that very soon!

Final thoughts… where to from here?

We are targeting just normal, everyday people like you who are practical and creative, with awesome language translation ability.  But more than that you will have a heart for missions and know just how powerful a medium the internet is for reaching out to a diversified, global audience.  Using precisely the multi-lingual gifts that God has given you!

If you have been searching for a way to leave a lasting legacy, come team with us and build an online vehicle to reach people in a way never before attempted, through a new model of missions.  If this sounds like you, this could be your calling right here.

This is an opportunity not to be missed.  If this stirs you, what are you waiting for?  Please pray now about applying.  Your role would start almost immediately if you are accepted.

PLEASE NOTE:  IF YOU CAN’T TRANSLATE, BUT YOU DO KNOW SOMEONE ELSE YOU BELIEVE WOULD BE JUST THE RIGHT PERSON, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO PLEASE PASS ON THE LINK TO THIS PAGE ONLINE.

PERHAPS THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE IN YOUR CHURCH WHO SPEAK SOME OF THE ABOVE LANGUAGES(?)  PLEASE LET THEM KNOW.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A BLESSING THROUGH YOUR CONTRIBUTION
