Strategic Business Partner and Board Administrator (Part time) 
Focus on the Family Australia is a donor supported, not-for-profit faith based organization that offers relevant, practical support to help families thrive in every stage of life. We achieve this through our radio broadcasts, seminars, facilitator training programs and a wide variety of resources. We present topics all over the nation, with a Biblical world view such as healthy relationships, suicide prevention, drugs/alcohol, healthy sexuality and parenting at a variety of forums including schools, community groups, churches and businesses.
This new and innovative appointment of the Strategic Business Partner (SBP) will enable Focus on the Family Australia to develop long term future strategic direction in direct liaison with the CEO and the Board to establish financial stability and sustainability.
Working closely with the CEO and staff the SBP will implement strategy and achieve long-term goals and objectives of the ministry and be empowered to drive the strategic agenda for the long-term financial health of the ministry that will further the growth and impact of Focus. 
Part of the responsibility will also include Board Administration. This would include review and updating policies, manage risk and compliance and undertake other administrative responsibilities as determined by the board. 
  •     To develop future strategic direction in direct liaison with the CEO and the Board to establish financial stability and sustainability; develop high quality digital products; multiply organisational reach and develop tools for measurable accountability.
  •     To flesh out short and long-term goals and ensure Focus outputs fall in line with these goals.
  •      This new position will create opportunities to maximize both the impact and awareness of Focus on the Family Australia.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
The successful applicant will have appropriate professional life experience in some or all of the following areas:
  • A Bachelor Degree in Business and/or Strategic and Financial Management
  • Corporate Governance
  • NFP strategic planning 
  • Strong working knowledge of management strategies, financial accounting, human resources planning, customer experience and implementation of new technologies
  • Creativity and problem-solving
  • Ability to multi-task with research projects, data analysis, collaborate with the Focus team and increase revenue
  • Ability to initiate key conversations and frame new strategic questions
  • Capacity to provide objective insights about strategic challenges; present new ideas; manage change; guide and facilitate strategic thinking
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, sensing changes and disruptive trends long before they fully develop
  • Digital competency 
  • Ability to map industry shifts and strategic inflection points and convert these into strategic action.

This is a 0.5 EFT position for a period of 12 months with the option to be extended as the growth and finances of the ministry allow.
