Young Families Ministry Leader
St John’s Anglican Church - Parish of Dalby

St John’s Anglican Church – Parish of Dalby is a cohesive and welcoming parish that has a strong sense of joy and compassion and seeks to share this by being a faithful witness of God’s saving grace in the lives of others. We live our mission, “To know Christ and to make Christ known – through worship, reaching out, caring and education,” and see this role complementing and expanding our mission as it applies to young families.

The role of Young Families Ministry Leader is central in supporting, encouraging and engaging young families who are already a part of our parish, and motivating and inspiring them to grow in their knowledge of the Christian faith and in following Jesus. This position is offered as a 3 year contract with a 6 month probationary period, and will require a commitment to working 20 hours per week (with flexibility spread over a monthly period) at the rate of $21/hr + 15% super.

You will work alongside the Rector to develop the existing program for Young Families. Working with various volunteers, you will prepare lessons and material and be presented during Sunday morning services to lead the Young Families Ministry Program and our monthly Ignite Youth meetings. You will also be required to attend Parish Council meetings on the second Thursday evening of every month.

Our successful applicant will be a faithful and prayerful disciple of Christ, a role model for our young families, with a high level of organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an adept ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of people.

You must be eligible to hold and maintain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check). Qualifications in Youth Work, Counselling or related fields are desirable. Having musical skills and abilities, although not a requirement, are also highly desirable. You must also be a confirmed communicant member of the Anglican Church of Australia; or be willing to be received into the Anglican Church.

Apply today and have the privilege of providing holistic and Christ centered teaching in an environment that encourages young people to grow and develop spiritually. Enjoy the opportunity to witness young families cultivate mature relationships with each other and with Jesus and establish their faith in fellowship with other believers at the parish.
