LifeCare Women’s Centre Team Leader
 
Crossway LifeCare (CLL) is a community transformation organisation with a vision to see people in tough places flourish emotionally, economically and spiritually. Our interlinked core services and programs for individuals and families achieve significant impact for those struggling in our community.
 
Crossway LifeCare has a Part Time (4 days a week) vacancy for a Women’s Centre Team Leader.
 
The purpose of this position is to design, plan and coordinate the implementation of CLL Women’s Centre programs in line with the overall CLL strategy that will empower some of the most vulnerable women in our community.
 
The role will involve the careful selection, design and implementation of key women’s empowerment programs; training and leading a team of volunteers and facilitators to reach out to vulnerable women in our community; and managing the day to day operations of the Women’s Centre.
 
Working with Head of Services to develop strategic and operational plans for running therapeutic programs and activities at the Womens Centre, including risk management plan (OH&S) and annual budget plan.
 
Experience and Qualifications
  • Tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in community services, social work or counselling related disciplines
  • Experience in service management, project management and/or other leadership roles
  • Experience in leading a team and preferably working with volunteers
  • Experience in working with the under-privileged and people with challenging behaviours
 
Knowledge
  • Child Protection Legislation
  • Women’s empowerment programs
  • Family violence prevention and interventions (including available resources and services)
 
Skills
  • Ability to support staff and volunteers
  • Problem solving skills, able to organize, prioritise and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Demonstrated case management or community transformation skills
  • Confident to respond to people with mental/emotional and spiritual issues
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Be patient and have discernment when responding to concerns and complaints
  • Able to be flexible and cope with interruptions
  • Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
