Toongabbie Christian College is a Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational College in the western suburbs of Sydney. The College is a ministry of Toongabbie Baptist Church. Our purpose is to function as a Christian community in supporting families by providing quality education to develop the whole person in a Christ-centred, caring environment for life and eternity.
Toongabbie Christian College seeks to appoint a Psychologist who will:
  • Maintain a commitment to a faithful walk with the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to the College’s Purpose and Purpose Statements
  • Commit to a growing understanding of the place of education, teaching and learning from a Biblical Worldview
  • Set an example to students, staff and parents/carers in matters of faith and conduct
The Role & Conditions
  • This is a permanent (0.8 or 1.0 FTE negotiable) position in 2019 commencing Monday 15 October 2019 (starting date negotiable).
  • Award:  NSW Christian Schools General Staff Multi Enterprise Agreement 2017-2019.
  • This is a 48-week position (averaged over 52 weeks recommended) with a probation period of 6 months.
  • Attendance at your workplace is not required during non-term time except for the two Professional Development weeks in January and July, which are compulsory.
  • Annual leave to be taken during non-term time.
  • If you agree to attend a student camp that requires an overnight stay you will receive an in-lieu day, with approval of your Line Manager.
  • Supervision is to be arranged in consultation with the Line Manager.  The minimum supervision requirement will be permitted with a cap of $150 per session.  If specialised supervision is requested, and incurs a cost above the capped amount, the Line Manager will need to provide approval.  If possible, supervision is to be taken in a time that minimises disruption during term time.
  • Responsibility for own professional fees.
  • If attendance is required at an evening event, the Line Manager must provide approval.  Ideally, this will be limited to four evenings per calendar year.  Any variance to this can be discussed with the Line Manager.

  • Proof of current registration with AHPRA required and membership of APS desirable.
  • Current Working With Children Check or the ability to obtain such a WWCC prior to commencement.
  • Evidence of a First Aid credential or a commitment to obtain such a credential by the commencement date.
