Fusion Australia is a not-for-profit international Christian youth & community development organisation, with over 50 years’ experience in youth work.  We are seeking qualified/experienced Youth Worker’s to join our team.
 

This position involves working with young people and their communities, in a range of contexts such as schools, street work, case management, outreach programs and more, in the Canterbury Bankstown region.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant youth work training (Certificate IV in Youth Work or Equivalent Qualification.)
  • The ability to build relationships with young people and maintain professional caring relationships of trust.
  • An awareness of the researched needs of young people in general.
  • A willingness to learn about and respond to the unique needs of specific young people.
  • Experience in designing and delivering developmental programs to young people
  • Understanding of issues facing local young people
  • Commitment to network with other agencies so young people can access other services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and respect for, cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD).
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support volunteers
  • Willingness to work within the framework of Christian values
  • Own transport with compressive insurance

A STRONG DESIRE TO SEE CHANGE IN THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE and their communities, is essential in this role.

 A Criminal History Check and WWC check will be undertaken on the suitable applicant, for this position, due to the nature of the work involved.  Compliance with the new WWCC will be expected.
 
The successful applicant would receive ongoing in-service training and regular supervision, and would have opportunities for support and development within the wider Fusion Sydney South team, where innovation and initiative are encouraged.
