HammondCare has exciting part-time opportunities for Registered Nurses passionate about caring for people living with Dementia. We call our Registered Nurses roles Specialist Dementia Advisors (SDA).

About the role
The role of Specialised Dementia Advisor works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare and makes a significant contribution to the care delivery within the Horsley facility by advising and supporting the Specialised Dementia Carers (SDC’s) in providing care that is aligned with Hammond Care’s philosophy of care.
This role is a clinical support role. It is the expectation from HammondCare that this role is carried out within a consultative and advisory context rather than an authoritarian approach. The role has a level of professional accountability and responsibility in line with the registration requirements as a RN qualified and current registration with AHPRA.
The SDA is a core member of the residential team and works with both the management of the home and the SDCs to provide tailored and individualised responsive care for the resident.
The essence of this role:
  • Advising and supporting the care delivery by the SDC’s.
  • Educating and mentoring in clinical areas and processes
  • Consultative in case management and clinical decision making
  • Clinical oversight and professional competence as a Registered Nurse
  • Implement and support a resident comfort focus.
