Celebrating our 60th year in 2019, Baptist World Aid Australia (BWAA) partners with like-minded agencies overseas to empower communities to lift themselves out of poverty, challenge injustice and build resilience.  We partner with Christians and churches in Australia, particularly those from the Baptist movement, in generous giving, ethical consumption, courageous advocacy and faithful prayer in order to achieve justice for people living in poverty. In 2018 our work directly benefited over 332,391 people through our community development and disaster relief programs.

The Role

Here at BWAA we focus on building a strong foundation of people and systems to support and ultimately enable our mission – to alleviate poverty. We are currently looking for a suitable candidate to lead our Supporter Engagement – Inbound team. Leading 3 direct reports, you will be responsible for providing leadership and innovative direction to the Supporter Engagement – Inbound team including the management of team budgets and staff rosters. You will review processes, procedures and results to ensure optimal supporter experience contributing to the overall supporter retention strategies. You will also synthesise supporter feedback in to cohesive reporting loops to the broader Community Engagement team. This opportunity will be perfectly suited to a professional self-starter with a genuine heart to partner with our organisation in our mission to make a positive and life lasting difference in the lives of those living in poverty.

Position Description
 
What capabilities will help you succeed?
 
  • 3 years’ experience in an administration or customer service role
  • Experience and advanced knowledge working with databases or CRM (customer relationship management) systems
  • Experience leading an effective team
  • Demonstrated ability to engage various stakeholders to provide feedback, answer questions or make decisions
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop processes and systems with an eye for details, accuracy and quality
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically about metrics or feedback, take action and implement appropriate changes
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service, and ability to handle sensitive situations in a mature and effective manner in person, by phone and by email
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • An authentic committed Christian:

    • Able to understand, engage with and support the Biblical theology that informs the organisation’s development approach
