Lutheran Education VIC, NSW & TAS (LEVNT) is the regional office that supports the operation of 20 schools and four early childhood centres in Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.   The regional office is located in Box Hill, Victoria.
 
 Applications are sought for the position of

PRINCIPAL
GOOD NEWS LUTHERAN COLLEGE, TARNEIT  VIC
 
Founded in 1997 with an enrolment of only 24 students and two staff, the school has grown into a thriving multi-cultural P – 12 Lutheran College of over 1000 students in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. Situated in a major growth corridor and catering for all levels from Prep to Year 12.  In the past 12 months the student population has grown by over 8% and is expected to grow again by a further 5% in 2020.
 
Good News Lutheran College aims to provide a quality, holistic education in the Lutheran tradition, which values Christian beliefs and living, and provides a sound academic, spiritual, physical, social and emotional preparation for the students’ lives ahead. The College is situated on four hectares of land with well-appointed grounds and buildings.
 
The College is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate, (Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).
We are seeking to appoint a leader with a strong personal faith and connection with the Lutheran Church, commercial acumen, high level communication and relational skills, proven success as a leader of change and learning in an educational context and the ability to bring courage, wisdom and humility to each relationship and every situation. As the Principal, you will need to be a proven strong and visionary leader of your team.  A key focus will be on leading the College community through a new phase of growth, in the areas of spiritual development, 21st century learning, school culture and public relations.
 
 

SELECTION PROCESS

The Council has appointed a Selection Panel that will conduct the following process, which will culminate in a recommendation to Council for the appointment.
 
  • All applications will be acknowledged.
  • All applicants will be contacted once the short-listing has been completed.
  • Short-listed applicants will be invited to attend one or more interviews in Tarneit in early July.
 
Short-listed applicants will have relevant expenses covered to attend the interview(s).
 
Applicants should include the following information in their application:
  1. A covering letter, including relevant biographical information and contact details
  2. An experienced educator
  3. A statement which addresses the Key Selection Criteria outlined under Selection Criteria (maximum of one page per selection criteria)
  4. Cultural interests, sporting and recreational pursuits
  5. The names and candidates of at least three (3) referees, including your current school Principal (if the candidate does not already hold this position) and your congregational Pastor
