Working in a friendly small office environment, together with a team sharing strong Christian values and partaking in weekly prayer meetings.  The role will suit someone seeking bookkeeping and administration work in such an environment, together with some flexibility in working hours.

Who we are
We are a Christian organisation serving children, families and elderly people suffering the effects of poverty and oppression.  We do this regardless of their faith, race or nationality.  Our support work is currently focused on six Eastern European countries: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
Through practical and spiritual support we give hope by meeting urgent needs and building self-sufficient communities. We work with thousands of children and families across the region, through local churches, volunteers and our own specialist staff.

We are a cohesive team, sharing great working relationships and frequently supporting each other when needed, in the office environment.

The role
The Bookkeeper/Administrator reports to the National Director of Mission Without Borders Australia and is responsible for the effective and efficient processing of accounting data of MWB Australia. 

The role is also responsible for managing relationships between Australian supporters of our life-changing programmes, and the field country managers and co-ordinators, who work with the children in the field countries.

This role involves providing regular updates and feedback to our supporters, regarding their sponsored child/children, also sourcing new children to replace those who no longer require assistance. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possess a confident telephone manner.

The Position
This is a permanent part-time position of 30 hours per week (minimum 4 days per week), with an initial contract term of one year, to be reviewed annually.
The role also involves other general administrative office duties, such as sourcing and managing international freight/ postal services as required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Accounts payable
• Fortnightly Payroll
• Statutory reporting (BAS, PAYG and Superannuation)
• Preparation for annual audit
• Budget monitoring
• Manage sponsorship yearly updates from March each year
• incoming telephone calls
• monthly preparation of parcels and Customs paperwork for posting to beneficiaries of the Child and Family programmes
• other administrative assistance as required
• share responsibility with the team to keep the office tidy, respectable and professional-looking.

Essential criteria:
• Bookkeeping/Administration background
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
• Tertiary qualification in accounting
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Competency in BAS and PAYG reporting
• Organisational and time management skills

• Previous experience with Sage Quantum Accounting software
• Previous experience with Kwik-Pay payroll software
• Previous experience working in the Not-for-profit sector
• 3 referees including one from Church Minister/Pastor
