Assistant Manager

Winmalee Christian Conference Centre is seeking an Assistant Manager as our current Assistant Manager has been promoted to Manager. Our goal is to continue to provide excellent service to our guests in a safe environment. We wish to achieve this while ensuring that Christ is glorified through the work of the Conference Centre.

To be content in the working environment of Winmalee Christian Conference Centre you will need to be an active Christian, fully embracing the Mission Statement, Ethos, Aims and Objectives of the Conference Centre. Your attitude to detail in every area of guest service should be of a high standard. Pride in the site & facilities would drive you to improve & maintain the site at an excellent standard. The ability to work & live closely with others is essential.

There will be times that are busier than other times & flexibility is required in working hours.

This position is suitable for a small family. 2 or 3 (conversion needed) bedroom house included in package. There may be opportunity of casual employment for your spouse.

Duties: You would need to demonstrate abilities in the following areas or be willing to undertake on the job training or courses to develop the necessary skills eg First Aid Course, Food Handling Course, Chainsawing etc

  • Relationship Skills:  Possess an ability to make guests feel welcome & cared for under all circumstances. To work in harmony with full time & casual staff & in dealings with delivery personnel & contractors.
  • Communication: Clear communication between you & management is vital.
  • Group Care: Including (but not limited to) the ability to prepare meals & to present these in an attractive manner to groups. Deal with dietary needs. To assist the group wherever possible so that their experience at the Conference Centre will be beneficial. Be able to anticipate needs & react appropriately.
  • Property & Equipment Maintenance: Including (but not limited to) cleaning, general maintenance & care of buildings, gardens, lawns, swimming pool, care of grounds equipment & fire protection equipment plus other equipment on site & other set routine maintenance. A trade background will be an advantage.
  • Administrative tasks: Including (but not limited to) efficient, polite answering of phones, responding to bookings & general enquiries. General office work as required. General computer ability.
  • Policies: All duties are to be performed within the policies of the Conference Centre.
  • CVA: To be supportive of Christian Venues Association by attending CVA events where possible.
  • Other tasks: As directed by the Manager.

Winmalee Christian Conference Centre is committed to the Working with Children Check. Prohibited persons under the Child Protection Act are ineligible to apply for this position. A Working With Children Number & a Police check will be required for this position.

Remuneration package and benefits negotiable & includes accommodation on site and is reviewed annually effective from 1 July each year.
