JOB TITLE:  Office Manager
JOB TYPE: Full-time paid
LOCATION: ECM Australia & New Zealand office, 15 Malvern Ave, Croydon NSW
BRIEF: European Christian Mission is a not-for-profit evangelical Christian organization. Our main aim is to send and support Christian workers as part of Christ’s wider mission in Europe. Our headquarters and office is in Sydney. We require a suitably qualified and experienced Christian to coordinate and implement the effective day-to-day functioning of our small office in service of our wider mission. The person we are looking for will be a good team leader for the office, ensure a pleasant office environment for all our stakeholders, and be willing and able to perform the wide variety of receptionist and administrative tasks as needed. This position would suit someone who has a passion to serve the cause of world missions with their team building skills and administrative gifts.     

Job Requirements:

  • Coordinate and carry out all office administration including reception, mail, couriers, greeting stakeholders, website management (training provided) and filing.
  • Respond to telephone and email inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. 
  • Liaise patiently and in a godly manner with ECM workers and supporters.
  • Occasional event management 
  • Execute asset (property and vehicle) maintenance under the property manager.
  • Basic bookkeeping, database administration and donor relations management as required (training provided)
  • Ensure payment of invoices, salaries and allowances in a timely manner
  • Preparation of reports, making travel arrangements and general administrative assistance to the National Director.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and replenish inventory and office supplies.
  • Ensure effective collection and distribution of partnership development material (including prayer letters).
  • Coordinate mail-out days
  • Other tasks as directed by the national director.
Qualifications: .
  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent 
  • Some theological / biblical studies preferred 
  • First aid certificate preferable.
  • Australian residency.
  • At least two years experience in a professional, administrative capacity is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in leadership positions in churches or Christian organisations (voluntary or paid) preferred.
  • Competent and people-orientated team leader
  • Excellent computer skills including sound and demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and database administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Organised, detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Team player and yet able to work independently for long periods.
  •  Ensure effective and efficient completion of all administrative tasks
  • Serve supporters, missionaries and volunteers respectfully and competently 
  • Ensure office is clean and presentable at all times
  • Free up national director from day-to-day office management and event management
