Job Description:

Baptist Financial Services Australia Ltd (BFS) is an Australian Baptist Ministry providing financial services for the work of Baptist Churches throughout Australia. Established in 1984, with total assets now exceeding $400 million, BFS is a Registered Charity providing the opportunity to raise funds which are then used to resource Baptist and other Christian ministries.

BFS is currently looking to fill the Marketing and Communications Manager in our Sydney office, located at Epping. The role of the Marketing and Communications Manager is to manage BFS branding, marketing initiatives and material and to manage and deliver external marketing communications in all forms, including both print and digital formats. The role will also provide marketing support to events and sponsorships in a church based context.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must have the following skills:

  • A high level of proficiency in the use of Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and desktop publishing tools including Indesign.  Skills relating to other digital applications including websites and social media are a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to review, edit and proof read material, with good written comunication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment and help lead all aspects of marketing within the Organisation.
  • Ability to keep abreast of market developments and opportunities.
  • A demonstration of strong independent/critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to accept and exercise responsibility.
  • Adaptability & willingness to learn new skills.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a marketing role, preferably within financial services or in the not for profit sectors.
  • Experience in relation to brand management and style guides.
  • Experience in creating advertising & marketing material, newsletters, presentations and reports.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience as a good team player while being able to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver against urgent deadlines when required.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing and delivering to outcomes.
  • An understanding of the work of the Baptist church within the community.
