Your Impact and Contribution:

This pivotal role provides advice and support to the International Programs Team in managing Overseas Partners’ financial systems.  Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a) the robustness and effectiveness of Partners’ overall financial management systems including budgets, program expenditure and performance measures; b) management of grants and funding, and c) management of financial risks.
 
Working closely with the International Programs Manager, the role oversees the building of Partners’ financial capacity, systems and processes, and policies and procedures.  
 
The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in community development issues and will be comfortable working in a culturally diverse environment.

Job Requirements:

What capabilities will help you succeed?
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, with current membership of a recognised accountancy body.
  • Five years or more working experience in an international NGO/NFP environment, with knowledge and experience in project funding and acquittal processes.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Program and Project Management tools.
  • Demonstrated hands-on in-country/field experience in accounting systems. 
  • Able to travel, as this role requires travels to visit Overseas Partners’ offices.
  • Understanding of design and implementation of Internal Audit processes, procedures and reporting.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in managing foreign currency exchange risks.
  • Experience in working in a culturally diverse environment, including ability to handle cultural sensitive issues.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills and a strong sense of teamwork
  • Excellent organisational skills, including:
  • ability to plan, organise, prioritise, document and implement work flows to meet targeted objectives;
  • work independently; and,
  •  be proactive in managing competing priorities and tasks.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel skills.
