Job Description:

An exciting opportunity to be involved in a ground breaking Alternative Christian School.

Part time Maths teacher required for the remainder of 2018 with opportunities to become fulltime as we grow into Senioir Secondary Education in 2019

Capstone College is an independent, co-educational school catering for students from Year 9 to Year 10 . We are a Special Assistance School that is providing an alternative approach to education for students where previous schooling in a mainstream setting has not been successful due to social, emotional, physical, educational, family or situational difficulties.

The College provides education which is innovative and meets the needs of the student, many of whom have learning difficulties and disabilities. Capstone College is a responsive, inclusive College, informed by Christian spirituality: Where the values of justice, mercy, generosity and hospitality are lived out in community. Where students and all who are in contact with them are invited to redeem their pasts and move forward together, as we learn to live and take responsibility for a better tomorrow. We aim to provide a safe community where all students are free from pressures of social stigma and able to gain the best from their education.

An integral part of this is Capstone’s involvement in Poatina Village. Poatina is a community of people that live to bring life to each other and those spending time in the village, particularly the young and vulnerable.  Poatina aspires to be a community of hope, bringing a vibrant culture and inspiring spirituality through facilitating a range of training programs and teaching and learning opportunities that encourage, build capacity and change lives.
