Job Description:

Major Responsibilities
 
The classroom teacher is responsible to the Principal through the Head of Senior School for:
  • identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed
  • setting appropriate academic and behavioural expectations
  • promoting the general progress and wellbeing of students
  • providing feedback to students which promotes growth in their learning
  • working collaboratively with other staff to promote the College’s values: courage, curiosity, craftsmanship, collaboration and compassion

Job Requirements:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced educator/s to join our vibrant learning community commencing Term 3.

Years 7-12 English teacher
LOTE (Spanish) teacher – Part time

The above positions may be combined for a suitably qualified teacher.
 
Primary Purpose
 
The classroom teacher will work with other staff to be an effective professional who demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge, can plan, teach and assess effectively, take responsibility for continual professional development and promote the aims and objectives of the College.
 
Essential Criteria
 
The successful applicant must have the capacity to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents to enhance student wellbeing and academic outcomes. Essential criteria for this role include;
  • A committed Christian and an active member of a church
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications for the position
  • Knowledge of current syllabus documents
  • Proven ability to develop contemporary teaching and learning programs that promote student understanding, participation, engagement and achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology in the learning process
  • An understanding of and commitment to student wellbeing
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral and strong organisational skills
  • An ability to work effectively as a team member
  • A commitment to ongoing personal professional development
